Nij = Self the Soul


तबक चौदे ख्वाब के, याको पेडै नींद निदान।
नींद के पार जो खसम, सो ए क्यों करे पेहेचान।।३

यह चौदह लोकों वाला ब्रह्माण्ड स्वप्नका है. इसका मूल निश्चय ही नींद है. परब्रह्म परमात्मा इस नींदसे परे हैं, फिर ये स्वप्नके जीव उन्हें कैसे पहचान पाएँगे ?

Fourteen domains (lok) all of dream the origin of it is amnesia, forgetfulness, slumber (lacking the consciousness of the self). The Master of the soul is definitely beyond this sleep but how can anyone know Him.


भी कहूं मेरी सैयन को, जो हैं मूल अंकूर।
सो निज वतनी सोहागनी, पिया अंग निज नूर।।१

जिनका परमधामसे मूल सम्बन्ध है, उन आत्माओंको मैं फिर कह रही हूँ. वे परमधामकी सुहागिनी आत्माएँ पूर्णब्रह्मकी अङ्गस्वरूपा हैं तथा उनकी ही किरणें हैं.

I am narrating this again to my souls who has original relationship with beloved Lord. The dwell in the abode of the self and they are brides of the Supreme, they are part of the beloved and within they carry His light.

पार पुरुष पिया एक हैं, दूसरा नाहीं कोए।
और नार सब माया, यामें भी विध दोए।।२

पूर्णब्रह्म परमात्मा स्वयं एक हैं. वस्तुतः उनके अतिरिक्त कोई है ही नहीं. बाकी तो सब माया है. इस मायामें भी दो प्रकारके जीव हैं.

The beloved Lord of the beyond is one and there are no two. Rest all entities are of illusion and there are two types of Jeev in this illusion.

जो रूह असलू ईस्वरी, दूजी रूह सब जहान।
पर रूह न्यारी सोहागनी, सो आगे कहूंगी पेहेचान।।३

इस संसारमें उच्च कोटिके जीव ईश्वरी सृष्टि मानी जाती है. अन्य दूसरे जीव सब स्वप्नके कहलाते हैं. ब्रह्मात्माएँ इन दोनोंसे भिन्न हैं. उन सबकी पहचान आगे बताएँगे.

The soul from the real are Ishwari (Khas) and another soul is all from illusion (created from sunya niraakar). But the soul who are bride of the Supreme are from beyond Akshar.
I will later tell you their identification (who they are).

सैयां सुख निज वतनी, ईस्वरी को सुख और।
दुनी भी सुख होसी सदा, आगे कहूंगी तीनों ठौर।।४

परमधामका असली सुख ब्रह्मात्माओंका है. ईश्वरी सृष्टिका सुख उससे भिन्न है. स्वप्नके जीवोंको भी अखण्ड सुख प्राप्त होंगे. इन तीनोंका विवरण आगे देंगे.
The Brahmshristi, Momin, celestial soul enjoy the bliss of the abode of the self(original abode) Aksharateet. Ishwari Shristi's bliss is different. The wordly (created from formless) shall taste the bliss of the eternity, that I will describe all the three dwellings.

Name of the Self which Lord of Aksharateet told to Shyama is Shri Krishna. He is the Supreme Brahm and Satchidanand (Truth Conscious living and Bliss). He resides in the heart of the soul Nijdham. He is eternal and is beyond formless and the Creator of the Universe Akshar yet He is within. He has name Shri Krishna, address Nijdham Paramdham complete consciousness of the Supreme and form (Man is made in the image of Lord!)
He is the Truth and groom of the Bliss embody Shyama.
He is the bestower of eternal bliss. All the scriptures are His words which are of beyond, if one reads it with body consciousness, one cannot understand anything and will become victim of confusion and doubts which will bring ignorance. The essence of scriptures must be churned well from the mind of the soul.
1. Shri Krishna world knew not as Supreme Brahm but as Vishnu avtaar. Everyone was looking for Brahm and estimated many things about it. Is Bhagavan Shri Vishnu the Supreme? Check the scriptures, he too becomes the victim of Kaal the time.
2. The senses cannot detect Brahm and mind cannot conceive Brahm as it is beyond mind and hence it is called Parah Brahm!
3. Many say that all creatures are part and parcel of Brahm(The Supreme) then how they can perish? Whole creation movement of stars and planets are timely. How can the law of action hold to the Supreme Brahm? If everyone is Supreme Brahm then why there is difference in the world?
3. When mind cannot conceive then how can anyone know about Him then and He is called agochar one that cannot be known, Agamya One who cannot be understood
4. Some said He is the creative force and source of creation and thus he is nature =prakriti
5. Some came to conclusion about the Supreme as Nirakar formless as they could neither see, nor hear nor know Him.
6. Many took to rituals to please the Supreme as an outside entity whom one has to please so they can attain nirvana.
7. Many tried to know Him in many different ways but could not cross the formless.
8. Many tried to concentrate or meditate on something they knew nothing about. Even while meditation the object of meditation is external and not within.
कदी केहेनी कहे मुखसे, बिन रेहेनी न होवे काम ।
रेहेनी रूह पोहोंचावहीं, केहेनी लग रहे चाम।।
कदाचित अपने मुखसे उच्च ज्ञाानकी बात कर भी ली जाए किन्तु उसको आचरणमें लाए बिना कार्य सिद्ध नहीं होता है. श्रेष्ठ आचरणके द्वारा ही आत्मा जागृत हो सकती है और मात्र कथन जिह्वा तक ही सीमित रह जाता है.
It is possible one can speak the words of highest wisdom, nothing is achieved if you cannot walk the talk. Consistence in the speech and action will awaken ones soul within while the one who just talk the talk but does not follow through it will stay skin deep.
The seekers of Nijanand must have speech, thoughts and action united. The seeker must walk the talk. Practicing what is in the thoughts with speech and action awakens the consciousness. One must be conscious about all the beings activities.
धनी न जाए किनको धूत्यो, जो कीजे अनेक धुतार ।
तुम चेहेन ऊपरके कै करो, पर छूटे न क्योंए विकार।।
परमात्मा किसी भी प्रकारकी धूर्तता या चतुराईसे ठगे नहीं जा सकते, चाहे ऐसे प्रयत्न अनेक क्यों न हों. तुम बाह्य आचरण कितने भी कर लो परन्तु इनसे मनके विकार छूट नहीं सकते.
The beloved Lord cannot be deceived no matter what trickery one tries. One may manipulate the external appearances (by shaving, cleaning, wearing the best clothes) or behave to portray that one is a great devotee by performing rituals and celebrating festivals with great pomps or by singing bhajans with perfect rhythm but these does not end the vikaar (greed, lust, anger, attachment, ego consciousness caused by ignorance).
Unless one seriously tries to realize self, controls and purifies the mind(man), and generates the love inside the heart for the beloved Lord by surrendering, contemplating and meditating on Lord one cannot eliminate vikaar.
सरीयत करे फरज बंदगी, करे जाहेर मजाजी दिल ।
बका तरफ न पावे अरस की, ए फानी बीच अंधेर असल ।।
नश्वर जगतके जीव कर्मकाण्डके आधार पर औपचारिक पूजा-वन्दना करते हैं. उनका हृदय असत्यकी ओर उन्मुख होता है. इनको अखण्ड परमधामकी दिशा प्राप्त न होनेसे ये नश्वरताको ही सत्य समझ कर अज्ञाानरूप अन्धकारमें पड.े रहते हैं.
The worldly being follow the rituals and pray as a formality towards God. (Their mind is restless, confused and under the external sense pleasure and ego gratification. Thus they strive towards name, fame and glory. Their desires are materialistic and physical. They cannot concentrate on the deeper meanings of the scriptures.)
They do not aspire for the eternal abode or the beloved Lord and live in the darkness of ignorance assuming this world as real.
The rituals, formal praying, outward display of worship but the heart is seeking the pleasures of the world cannot contemplate in the Supreme truth.
To understand the Supreme one must know the self first.
पेहेले आप पेहेचानो रे साधो, पेहेले आप पेहेचानो ।
बिना आप चीन्हें पार ब्रह्मको, कौन कहे मैं जानो।।१

bin aap chine parabrahma ko kaun kahe mai jaano
First know yourself o seeker , first know thyself! Without knowing the self how can anyone claim that he has know the Supreme of beyond paar Brahm.
पार ना कहूं अरस का, सो कह्या बीच दिल मोमिन ।
ए बिचार कर देखिए बका, सो ल्याए बीच दिल इन ।।
परमधामका कोई पारावार ही नहीं है किन्तु उसे ब्रह्मात्माओंके हृदयके अन्दर कहा गया है. जरा विचारपूर्वक देखो, ब्रह्मात्माओंके हृदयके अन्दर ही अखण्ड परमधामको अङ्कित कर दिया है.
The is no limit to Paramdham but which is within the heart of the celestial souls(Brahm atma, momin, chosen souls). Ponder over this about eternal abode which is brought by these souls in whose heart is called the Paramdham
Senses cannot detect the soul hence soul is beyond but the body is powered by the soul hence within. The Supreme resides in the heart of the soul.
होत नूर थें दूजा बोलते, दूजा नूर बिना कछू नाहिं ।
एक वाहेदत नूर है, सब हक नूर के माहिं ।।
परमधाममें प्रकाशके अतिरिक्त यदि कुछ होता तो उसके विषयमें कुछ कहा जा सकता. किन्तु वहाँ इसके अतिरिक्त कुछ है ही नहीं, मात्र प्रकाशका ही अद्वैत स्वरूप है. इस प्रकार परमधामकी यावत् सामग्री श्रीराजजीके प्रकाशसे ओत-प्रोत हैं.
In Paramdham there is nothing other than Supreme(Brahm)’s light. The unity consciousness is the light and everything including the Supreme is one with it.
नूर कहे महामत रूहें, देखो नजरों नूर इलम ।
वाहेदत आप नूर होए के, पकडो नूर जमाल कदम ।।
महामति कहते हैं, हे ब्रह्मात्माओ ! धामधनीके प्रकाशस्वरूप इस तारतम ज्ञाानको देखो एवं स्वयं भी तेजोमय अद्वैत स्वरूपमें जागृत होकर धामधनीके चरण कमलोंको हृदयमें धारण करो.
Mahamati (Greater Intelligence) say O souls, See the sight by the divine light of wisdom (tartamgyaan) and awakening in the unity consciousness thus becoming the light yourself, hold tightly the feet of Aksharateet Lord (Noor Jamal).
The consciousness of Shri Krishna (very attractive) is the all pervading consciousness. The self consciousness is the soul being aware of itself. The heart of the soul consciousness is Krishna consciousness. This is our Nijnaam.
खोजी खोजें बाहेर भीतर, ओ अंतर बैठा आप।
सत सुपने को पारथें पेखे, पर सुपना न देखे साख्यात ।।
khoji khoji baher bhitar, antar baitha aap
sat supane ko paarthen pekhen, par supana na dekhe sakhyat
The seekers look for the Creator in this world like temples or outside like Heaven/Swarg but He is dwelling inside the self. The soul (true being) can witness this illusionary world but the ego conciousness (the perishable entity) cannot see the true form.
हम ब्रह्मसृष्ठ आई धाम से,अक्षर खेल देखन ।
खेल देख के जागिए, घर असलू अपने तन ॥
ham brahmashrista aayee dham se, akshar khel dekhan,
khel dekh ke jaagiye, ghar asaloo apne tan
हम सभी ब्रह्मात्माएँ खेल देखने के लिए परमधाम से इस जगतमें आई हैं, अब इस खेलको देखकर जागृत हो जाइए, अपने मूल स्वरूप परमात्मा तो परमधाम में ही है॥
We the celestial souls have come to see this world which is full of misery, ignorance,amnesia of self knowledge. Once our desire to see the world is fulfilled we will awaken in our self.
This world is a sport of the Supreme to entertain His part the souls (brahmatma, roohen, celestial souls)! The world is a mental projection of Akshar whose nature is indeed very creative which the source of creation. The souls are witnessing this sport of dualism on top of Jeeva the living force of the creature. The souls are Brahmatma and are of same kind of the Supreme.
बांधत बंध आपको आपे, न समझे माया को मरम।
अपनों कियो न देखें अंधे, पीछे रोवें दोस दे दे करम ।।
संसारके लोग मायाके मर्मको समझे बिना अपने द्वारा बनाए गए मायाके बन्धनोंमें स्वयं बँध जाते हैं. ऐसे अन्धे-अज्ञाानी लोग अपने किए हुए कर्मोंको देख नहीं सकते और अपने भाग्य (कर्म) को दोषी मानकर रोते फिरते हैं.
We are the cause of our bondage. The mind binds us to the ego (me, mine) and body (perishable, continuously changing) which is actually an illusion (maya). Our real self is the soul that is blissful, eternal, never changing and which longs nothing but to unite with the Lord. We do not realize this fundamental fact and all our actions are directed towards protecting this blinded thinking that we are fragile and vulnerable to the outer environment. This very thought out of fear and worry is the cause and experiences that we meet in life is the effect. Our blindness does not see our erroneous actions and make hue and cry blaming the fate. If we could realize our true self of the soul then we will be liberated and we will be awakened. We will enjoy the supreme eternal bliss (akhand aanand) with Grace of Shri Rajji.
प्रेम आप न देखे कित, द्रष्ट पियाई देखे जित।
निज नजर प्रेम खोलत, जाग धाम देखावे सरबत्र।।
प्रेमी आत्माएँ कहीं भी स्वयंको प्रियतम धनीसे भिन्न नहीं समझतीं. उनकी दृष्टिमें सर्वत्र प्रियतम परमात्मा ही दिखाई देते हैं क्योंकि धामधनीका प्रेम ही उनकी आत्म-दृष्टिको खोल देता है. जिससे वे जागृत होकर सर्वत्र धामधनीको ही देखतीं रहतीं हैं.
The love does never sees the self, it’s focus on the beloved. The love opens the eyes of the soul and they awken in the nijdham where they see beloved Lord everywhere.
कीजे याद मिलाप धनीय को, और सखियों के सनेह ।
रात दिन रंग प्रेममें, विलास किए हैं जेह ।।
अपने धनीके मिलनकी उन घडि.योंको याद करो और सखियोंके स्नेहको भी याद करो कि किस प्रकार प्रेमके रङ्गमें रङ्गे हुए तुम अपने प्रियतमके साथ रमण किया करतीं थीं.
Remember the union with the Master and affection of other souls. Day and night in the color of love how you entertain yourself.
निस दिन रंग मोहोलनमें, साथ स्यामाजी स्याम ।
याद करो सुख सबों अंगों, जो करते आठों जाम ।।
हम सभी रङ्गमहलमें रात-दिन श्रीश्यामश्यामाजीके साथ रहतीं थीं. अपने अङ्ग-प्रत्यङ्गोंसे उन सुखोंको याद करो जिनको हम आठों प्रहरकी लीलाओंसे प्राप्त किया करतीं थीं.
Day and night we dwell in Rang Mahal (Palace of Colors) with Shyam (Shri Krishna the Master of the soul the consciousness) and Shyama the blisss embody of the Supreme Brahm (we are part of her). Remember with all your soul the bliss from sports we played in 8 prahars(24 hrs).
चौकस कर चित दीजिए, आतम को एह धन ।
निमख एक ना छोडिए, कर मनसा वाचा करमन ।।
अपने चित्तको सचेत कर उन सुखोंको याद करो. यही आत्माकी अमूल्य सम्पदा है. अपने मन, वचन एवं कर्मसे क्षण भरके लिए भी इस निधिको दूर होने मत दो.
Please pay attention with consciousness and alertness, totally aware in what one is doing this is the treasure of our soul. Do not let go this technique even for a moment and perform it with mind, speech and action. Complete awareness of the self, complete consciousness in thoughts, speech and action What and Why one must use while thinking, speaking and doing! Every second must be in consciousness, this is the treasure of the soul.
एही अपनी जागनी, जो याद आवे निज सुख ।
इसक याहीसों आवहीं, याहीसों होइए सनमुख ।।
इन सुखोंका स्मरण होते रहना ही आत्माकी जागृति है. इसीसे प्रेमका आविर्भाव होगा. इसलिए सर्वदा इसीकी ओर उन्मुख बनीं रहो.
This is only our awakening getting the remembrance of bliss of the soul (Nij), when one knows one is the soul and remembers the attributes of the soul that is bliss then he gain the Love and when one gains Love one can witness the Supreme Brahm.
इसक धनीको आवहीं, याही याद के माहिं ।
इसक जोस सुख धनी बिना और पैदा कहूं नाहिं ।।
इन सुखोंका स्मरण करने पर अपने प्रियतम धनीके प्रति प्रेम प्रकट होगा. धामधनीके इन सुखोंको याद किए बिना प्रेम तथा जोश प्रकट नहीं हो सकते.
The love for the Lord is within the remembrace of bliss of the self. Nij means the soul. If you remember the bliss of the soul this is only awakening from here (the soul) the love will derive and thus unite with Shyam Shyama! The love and inspiration and bliss one cannot have without the Sopreme.
एह बल जब तुम किया, तब अलबत बल सुख धाम ।
अरस परस जब यों हुआ, तब सुख देवें स्यामा स्याम ।।
इसके लिए यदि तुमने साहस किया तो तुम्हें निश्चय ही परमधामके अखण्ड सुखोंका अनुभव होने लगेगा. इस प्रकार जब आत्मा और पर-आत्मामें सुखोंका आदान-प्रदान होगा तब श्यामश्यामाजी तुम्हें अखण्ड सुखका अनुभव करवाएँगे.
You have been courageous that you determined to experience the bliss of Paramdham. Once you have soaked in the love completely, Shyama and Shyam will shower you with eternal bliss.
Once we find out our own self which is not related with the worldly perception (family,name, caste, creed, status, occupation, young, old,man, woman or any other worldly identifications) all the misery will end, we will realize our original bliss and thus we will face our Supreme as we are the part of the Supreme.
Thus the soul can witness Shri Krishna and activating the organs of the soul is called awakening. This is what is revealed.
The attribute of the Nij is bliss means Nijanand. Hence original state is Nijanand.
Nijnaam is the key to Nijdham to realize Nijanand. Ours is a tradition of bliss of the Soul thus Nijanand Sampradaya.
